Minua kiinnostaa ihmisten suhde ympäristöön sekä muihin ihmisiin, koska se on olemassaolon ehto. Teoksillani haluan kertoa tarinoita ihmisten suhteista. Feminismi näkyy teoksissani aihevalintoina ja kontrastina aiheen ja tekemisen tavan välillä. Pikkutarkka työskentelyn tapa viittaa taidehistoriassa taaksepäin, jolloin voin yllättää katsojan aihevalinnalla tai lisäämällä teokseen aiheelle ristiriitaisen yksityiskohdan. Usein ristiriidasta syntyy myös huumoria.

Matkakuvia –teema nostaa esiin tavalliset lomakuvat. Miten niissä poseerataan? Kuinka paljon pelkkä hahmo kertoo? Kuka kuvan ottaa ja mitä hän rajaa kuvaan tai siitä ulos? Kenen muistot näin syntyvät? En pyri vastaamaan kysymyksiin, vaan nostamaan ne vain esiin. Teoksissa lähes kaikki ihmiset on kuvattu pelkkinä ääriviivoina, millä korostan kollektiivista kokemista anonymiteetin kautta.

I´m interested in one´s relations with his/her surroundings and other people. I want to tell stories about relationships in my works. Feminism can be seen in choices of subject and in contrasts between the subject and techniques that I use. Pedantic way of working refers back to art history. I can surprise viewer by my choice of subject or adding contradictory details to the work. The result is often funny.

In the theme Matkakuvia I want to turn the gaze to the ordinary holiday photos. How you pose in those pictures? How much can simple figure tell? Who shoots the picture and what does he/she leaves in the picture or out of it. Whose memories are created this way? I don´t answer the questions I just want to point them out. In my works people are portrayed only with outlines which emphasize collective experience through anonymity.
